I originally made this hat for my father-in-law for Christmas about 20 years ago, and he still breaks it out when it's cold! This is also my husband's favorite hat because it keeps his ears warmer than the basic beanie, since the bottom is rolled up. I would call this an adult size medium to large. The size is easily adjusted by casting on more or less stitches, and by lengthening or shortening the hat.
For this project you will need: a 17 inch circular needle and a set of double pointed needles in US size 7 (4.5mm), 4 ounces (113 grams) of 4 ply yarn, and a stitch marker.
